One of the last large Parks Highway commercial parcels in fast-growing Wasilla, this 20-acre tract has over 1000 feet of frontage. Annexation to the City of Wasilla is pending, which upon approval makes public water and sewer available to the site. Soil conditions are expected to be excellent, with minimal site preparation cost anticipated. The site is mostly level and ends with an overlook of Cottonwood Creek and Wasilla Lake. The Parks Highway is being widened from the intersection with the Glenn Highway all the way into Wasilla. This project, due to go out for bid in 2000 for completion in 2001-2002, will significantly improve access to the parcel by providing an access road that will run from S. Maney Dr. at the east end, terminating in an access point about two-thirds of the way toward the western end of the parcel. The highway will contain east- and west-moving lanes, plus a protected turn lane that can be accessed from either access point. This means that traffic can access the parcel at two points coming and going from either the west or the east. |
